Locust #5 ~ Call for Submissions!

call-4-5.jpg

How strange does sunlight seem to us now? Or seeing someone we haven’t seen in a year? Perhaps… even shaking hands with them? What is the odd-but-familiar sensation we call touch? And what does it mean on this dying rock? What does it mean for our hope and despair to be simultaneously so attenuated?

You know the drill by now. Locust’s fourth issue has hit mailboxes. That means it is time for us to think about issue five. Its working title is “Working Class Art Against the Slow Motion Apocalypse.” As always, it is a theme we approach in a loose and generous sense. If you have art, poetry, fiction, or uncategorizable creativity that can fit under this broad rubric, then we maniacally demand you send it to us!

Submissions are due by May 1st, and should be sent to locust.review@gmail.com. Artists and writers of color, as well as queer, non-binary and women contributors, are particularly encouraged to submit!

We are aiming for issue five, along with the first issue of our annual theoretical journal Imago, to be in the mail by July. Projects of the Locust Arts + Letters Collective continue to thrive and grow, and we are positively buzzing with excitement to share them with you. Which also means that if you haven’t subscribed yet, we encourage you to do so now!
